Your role and responsibilities

As an Electrical Designer with us, you will be part of the Energy Industries project operations. The division is part of ABB's Process Automation business area and operates in the field of electrical power and plant automation for customers in the heating, water, and nuclear power sectors, as well as the pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries in Sweden. We cover everything from instrumentation, control and regulation technology, automation, electrical power systems including generator connections, to information systems and process optimization based on ABB's products.

Location is preferred in Västerås, but other locations can be evaluated based on competence profile. We are also present in Kista, Malmö, Mölndal, and Umeå.

Your responsibilities

• You will work with electrical and plant design in delivery projects and be involved in all phases of the project from idea to commissioning.
• Tasks may include, for example, developing room layouts, cabinet design, plant circuit diagrams, as well as cable documentation and other assembly documentation.
• You will work with electrical power and plant design for power-generating facilities in areas such as thermal power, hydropower, and nuclear power.
• You will collaborate in some cases with the purchasing department and may have direct dialogue with subcontractors to ensure that the right technical solution is developed, which may also include participation in FAT/testing at the factory before delivery.
• You will have close cooperation with the Lead Engineer within projects and may also participate in customer meetings with the entire project team.
• You share ABB's fundamental values regarding safety and integrity, which means you take responsibility for your own actions while also feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business.

Qualifications for the role

• We are looking for someone with a technical post-secondary education in electrical engineering.
• You have some years of work experience or are a recent graduate in electrical and/or plant design.
• You have knowledge and experience working with tools such as AutoCAD, E3, or similar.
• You have an interest in technology, are naturally driven, and curious to learn.
• You have good collaboration skills and are used to working in teams, are goal-oriented, and communicative.
• It is advantageous if you have worked with electrical power-generating facilities and have an understanding of customer processes.
• You speak and write Swedish and English fluently.
• You have a B driver's license as travel in the job occurs, primarily within Sweden.
